In addition to the standard battery operation (4 micro batteries), you can purchase a separate TI-Nspire battery for the new TI-Nspire with Touchpad and TI-Nspire CAS with Touchpad, which offers you even longer runtime. One charge is enough, and you can work with your TI-Nspire with Touchpad or TI-Nspire CAS with Touchpad for up to 100 hours.

- There are three options for powering your handheld: 1) Only with the TI-Nspire battery. 2) The TI-Nspire battery in combination with four regular, non-rechargeable micro batteries (AAA). 3) Only with four non-rechargeable micro alkaline batteries
- Only TI-Nspire, TI-Nspire CAS handhelds, and TI-84+ CS E with Touchpad are compatible with the TI-Nspire battery.
