Since 1975, Neocolor™ II Aquarelle has established itself as a staple in the fine arts thanks to its versatility and the intensity of its pigments. It originated from a special request: In the early 1950s, Caran d'Ache launched Neocolor™ I, a permanent wax pastel loved by educators and artists like Picasso and Mirò. Its vibrant colors and quality are unmatched, but it has one drawback: It adheres so well that it leaves permanent marks on tables. Caran d'Ache then developed a water-soluble version, and thus Neocolor™ II Aquarelle was born. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary, Caran d'Ache celebrates this special event with a Special Edition and a Limited Edition. Fifteen new colors enrich five thematic palettes: Pop, Lush, Portrait, Pastel, and Dark. Each box with 10 colors contains three new shades for imaginative discoveries.
