Art edition «Swiss Post’s commitment to art»

Le invisibili (woven) – Artist edition by Marta Margnetti accompanies new stamp
To mark the release of her new stamp, Ticino artist Marta Margnetti also presents the matching artist edition titled Le invisibili (woven) – a deeper exploration of the theme of visibility and invisibility.
As with the stamp, the artist edition features a delicate play of relief that evokes the fineness and tactile quality of spider webs. The depiction – an interlacing of threads, botanical fragments, and two small hands with long fingernails – references an interplay of nature, domesticity, and femininity, raising questions about perception and visibility.
The work was created using blind embossing from a mordanted zinc plate, processed through intaglio printing. The texture reveals itself on noble, handmade cotton and linen paper, produced at the renowned François Lafranca paper mill in Cerentino in the Maggia Valley. Esteemed artists such as Castellani, Chillida, and Dorazio have worked there.
Thanks to close collaboration with printing technician Giacomo Galletti of Complice Press (Lugano), this edition was executed with utmost precision.
Le invisibili (woven) is a tribute to delicacy, the hidden, and materiality made visible through light, shadow, and touch – impressively underscoring Swiss Post’s commitment to art on paper.
Le invisibili (woven) marks the second collaboration between Swiss Post and Edition VFO, reaffirming their shared commitment to bringing contemporary art to a wider audience through print.
