Stamp CHF 1.20+0.60 «Stamp Day 2026 Brig», Miniature Sheet
Picture 1 of 1

Brig will be the meeting point for stamp enthusiasts and curious visitors from 19 to 21 November 2026. A local illustrator has immortalized the town on a miniature sheet to mark Stamp Day. The stamps depict key elements of Brig and the surrounding area, such as Stockalper Castle, the city’s landmark. It houses the local administration, the district court and a museum featuring collections on the Stockalper family and the history of the Simplon Pass. The golden eagle symbolizes this pass which, along with the Simplon Tunnel, once the longest railway tunnel in the world, made Brig a central transport hub in the Alpine region. The third element shows Sebastiansplatz, a popular and lively meeting point in the town.
