The highlight of the stamp set for children this time goes by the name of Harry Potter. The occasion is a stamp exchange between Swiss Post and Correios de Portugal, the Portuguese postal service, on the theme of children. But the set has even more to offer.

One of the six stamps included in the set cannot be used in Switzerland, but it does depict one of eight of the most popular children’s film characters of all time. Which of the eight is decided by chance. Maybe it’s Harry Potter himself, played in the films by Daniel Radcliffe, or Hermione Granger, the razor-sharp, lightning-fast thinker and best friend of Harry and Ron Weasley. Or indeed Ron, the young man with the freckles. But it might also be Harry’s powerful adversary Lord Voldemort, whose very name should never be spoken. Or maybe Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape or the half-giant Rubeus Hagrid.

The new stamp set for children is available from 8 September from Postshop and all Swiss Post branches as a single issue for 12 francs. The product is also available at a reduced rate on subscription at swisspost.ch/stamp-subscriptions.
