Stickers and adhesive labels differ in terms of their use and how long they last. While stickers are smaller and often used for decorative purposes, adhesive labels are more functional. They’re used for labelling and information purposes e.g. they’re affixed to letterboxes with the words “No advertising”.

Stickers are often made of thin, flexible material, such as vinyl or paper. In contrast, adhesive labels are made of weather-resistant materials like polyester. 

How long do stickers and adhesive labels last?

How long stickers and adhesive labels last depends on the environmental conditions and what they’re used for.

Stickers used inside generally last for several years. However, they can’t be exposed to any extreme conditions, such as damp or direct sunlight.

Only water-resistant adhesive labels are suitable for outdoor use. Their lifespan differs greatly depending on local weather conditions. 

Removing stickers and adhesive labels without leaving any residue

The best way to remove stickers and adhesive labels is by using a hair-dryer. Put it on medium power and hold it at a distance from them.

The heat helps to soften up the adhesive.

Using an old piece of plastic card, you can slowly lift the label and remove it in one piece.

Vinegar or lemon juice can be used to get rid of any residue. Then wipe the surface with clean water.

How old do children need to be to use stickers?

Children aged three and over can use stickers for crafts and play activities. Younger children should be supervised when using stickers. Make sure stickers aren’t attached to delicate surfaces to avoid causing damage.
