Under the sign of artificial intelligence: The designs of the new crypto stamps were created by visitors to the Swiss Digital Days. To create these, they selected terms at a terminal that an artificial intelligence (AI) trained on images used to create templates for the new series.

For the Swiss Crypto Stamp 3.0, Swiss Post again combines the traditional postage stamp with a digital image – an NFT (non-fungible token). The NFT is stored on the Polygon blockchain. This means that the crypto stamps can be traded online, and end-to-end digital recording of the crypto stamps’ ownership and history is guaranteed. The miniature sheet contains all the information you need to view your digital image, to ensure that it is present on the blockchain and to transfer the NFT. One thing is clear: thanks to Swiss Crypto Stamps, collecting, exchanging and trading stamps has gone digital!

On a technical level, the stamps use the ERC-1155 standard, which is supported by most blockchain applications.

 

The Swiss Crypto Stamps are not part of Swiss Post’s official issue programme and is excluded from exchange.
