Stamp «200 years boat trips on Lake Constance»
Picture 1 of 1
The first steamboat to sail on Lake Constance 200 years ago. Lake Constance welcomed its first steamboat in 1824. The “Wilhelm” provided a connection be-tween the Swiss municipality of Romanshorn and the German town of Friedrichshafen. Initially, only cargo was transported, but over time, passenger services also began to operate. Today, boats from the three surrounding countries – Switzerland, Germany and Austria – sail on the lake. The stamp is a snapshot of the tranquil mood and wonderful natural environment that visitors can enjoy from a boat.
