This commemorative stamp depicts two central elements of the Federal Supreme Court, which celebrates its 150th birthday in 2025: first, the photo on the miniature sheet gives us a look into the grand chamber of the Federal Supreme Court, where public consultations take place. Since 1926, the seat of the Federal Supreme Court has been located in the Palais de Mon Repos in Lausanne, which was designed by the architects Prince, Béguelin and Laverrière. The second element on the stamp – Lady Justice – watches over the main entrance to the building. The sculpture was created by sculptor Charles-Albert Angst. Working from his sketches, the artist Jean-Paul Gobet produced a medal which is awarded by the Federal Supreme Court both for exceptional services and to mark the retirement of federal judges.
