The 5G-capable Motorola Moto G84 shows what an affordable smartphone can do. It impresses with an OLED display with high brightness. Colours and contrasts are also shown very well on the 6.6-inch display. It also has a refresh rate of 120 hertz. Overall, the performance in the test is impressive. A memory card slot and a headphone socket are also on board. It is a pity that the manufacturer relies on the older Wi-Fi 5 for the WLAN standard. The housing is also only protected against light splash water. The performance of the 50-megapixel dual camera in low light is also unconvincing. Daylight shots, on the other hand, are good. Video recordings are unfortunately limited to Full HD. The long battery life of 14 hours is positive.
